LESSON PLAN YEAR 3

Topic:                               Animals and Us
Focus                                Listening and speaking
Learning Standards:       1.1.3   Able to listen to, say aloud and 
                                                    recite rhyme and sing song
                                                    paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.
     1.1.4   Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance.
                                               
Objectives:                 By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
(i)                  make sounds of animals based on the picture with guidance.
(ii)                listen to and recite rhyme and sing songs with correct pronunciation and rhythm.
Cross-curricular elements / Educational emphases: ICT, Constructivism, Caring, Multiple Intelligences

Teaching Aids:  song, audio, pictures, PowerPoint
Steps:
Set Induction
Teacher shows a picture of farm animals.

Pre-Listening
2.       Show a picture of animals and ask for the sound.
e.g          picture of cat (meow)

While-Listening
3.       Pupils listen to the rhyme “Old Mc Donald”.
4.       Get pupils to sing along.
5.       Each group is provided with a picture of animal.
6.       The group present the picture in front of the class and sing the rhyme based on the picture.

Post-Listening
In groups, pupils look at a worksheet and match the animals to the sound.
7.       They present their answers orally to the class.

Happy New Year

Howdy all…

I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year 2012 to all over the world. 2011 has left us forever with bitter and sweet memories of 1001, success, failure, happiness, sadness. 


Ordinary life was bound to happen in any year at all, because we are just common people. We cannot afford to make our 365 days in a year to be filled with joy only and there's should be no sorrow too. 


Whatever the colour of this life we have to deal with the challenges that make us more  mature, courageous and independent. As the saying goes "Things that can not kill me makes me Stronger". 2012 is another year that we have to face. It is we who will shape our year with a strong determination and perseverance to get better or worse. 


Therefore, we have to work hard in achieving the ambitions of our own, and draw a little smile for the love ones. Last days let it be passed as history, as we travel very far ahead, maybe 100 miles, 1000 miles or 10 million miles to go! Continue to learn, share and guide the new generation for their bright future!
